CLUB Kids
CLUB KIDS is an activity club open to all students of Urbandale Middle School. The purpose of the club is to provide a place where students can have fun, be productive and make friends. CLUB KIDS will be in session from 6:30 - 8:00 a.m. and from 3:05 - 6:00 p.m. each school day. All day sessions of CLUB KIDS will be available on teacher in-service days, recess days and some vacation days during the school year. The hours of operation on these days will be from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. CLUB KIDS summer session is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. For more information regarding CLUB KIDS, call 457-5855.
The following list provides the important objectives students can learn in the various activities. Students have the opportunity to:
1. Develop appreciation and interest which will lead to widen and enjoyable use of leisure time.
2. Use organized group activities as a means of developing artistic, creative and social interests and abilities.
3. Work with teachers and other adults on an informal basis and learn the qualities necessary to develop friendships.
4. Be tolerant of the mistakes of others and offer assistance and encouragement in working together.
5. Select friends and develop a clear view of one's self.
6. Develop and apply a code of responsible behavior, to learn by mistakes, and grow through success.
7. Develop character qualities and social courtesies needed in contacts with small groups and individuals.
8. Develop special talents in music, writing, drama, and athletics.
9. Develop traits of leadership and cooperation.
10. Have the opportunity to perform before audiences, develop poise and confidence and accept disappointment or success with good will.
