BOARD MEETINGS
Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of the Board of Directors shall be held at least once a month. The Board shall set a schedule of regular meetings, specifying the date, time and location at the first regular meeting held after the second Tuesday in September each year. Changes in normal day, hour or location of such meetings will be announced in advance.
Work Sessions
A work session is a meeting of the Board where facts are gathered and in-depth discussion is held, but where no final action is taken. The public shall have a right to be present unless a topic may be discussed in closed session, but the public shall not have a right to address the Board during a work session.
Organizational Meeting
The organizational meeting of the Board of Directors shall be held at the first regular meeting held after the second Tuesday in September in each odd numbered year. Notice of the time and place of such meeting shall be given by the Secretary of the Board to each member and each member-elect of the Board. Transfer of Board materials and responsibilities shall be effected at this meeting.
The meeting shall be called to order by the Superintendent. New members of the Board will then be sworn into office unless they have been so sworn previously. The election and qualification will be entered in the minutes by the Board Secretary.
Special Meetings
Special meetings of the Board of Directors may be held as may be determined by the Board of Directors, or as called by the President, or as called by the Secretary upon the written request of a majority of the members of the Board, or upon recommendation of the Superintendent. Notice of a special meeting shall be given in person or in writing to each Board member specifying the time, purpose of the meeting and the place where the meeting is to be held; however, attendance by a Board member shall be a waiver of the notice requirements.
Annual Meetings
At a regular or special meeting held on or after August 31 and at or prior to the first regular meeting held after the second Tuesday in September each year, the Board shall audit the report of the Secretary-Treasurer for the year ending on the preceding June 30. The Secretary-Treasurer shall furnish the Board with a sworn statement from each depository showing the balances on deposit. The Board shall examine, reconcile, and approve, if in order, the report, and the President and Secretary-Treasurer shall affix their signatures thereto. The Superintendent shall make an annual report on the status of the District.
