312 – Superintendent Of Schools – Contract, Term

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS – CONTRACT, TERM

The Board of Directors shall offer a contract of employment to the Superintendent of Schools for a term of up to three years.  The first three years of initial employment with the District shall be as a probationary administrator.  The term shall be specified in the written employment contract.

The contract shall be automatically continued in force and effect for one year beyond the end of its term unless terminated by the parties or pursuant to law.  The Board reserves the right not to renew or extend a contract with the Superintendent for any reason.  The Board reserves the right to dismiss the Superintendent during a contract term with just cause.

If the Superintendent wishes to resign from a contract, the Superintendent must comply with Board policies on resignations.
