317 – Associate Superintendent Of Schools – Selection And Qualifications

ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS – SELECTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Board of Directors may select an Associate Superintendent of Schools upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools. In selecting the Associate Superintendent, the Superintendent and Board shall follow the District policies on equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
The Associate Superintendent shall hold a superintendent’s license from the Iowa Department of Education and Board of Educational Examiners, shall have demonstrated exemplary leadership abilities, and shall exhibit the knowledge and ability to accomplish the duties of the job description. The Associate Superintendent shall have special expertise in regard to equity issues. The Superintendent shall recommend an Associate Superintendent based upon such additional qualifications and qualities as may be determined from time to time by the Board and/or by the Superintendent as being necessary to accomplish the District’s educational philosophy, goals and objectives.
