418 – Insurance And Flexible Spending Account

Flexible Spending Account. The District maintains a flexible spending account for employees. The District will designate for each full-time employee, except temporary employees, a set amount of money each year, which may vary by position for selection of insurance benefits and for flexible spending account benefits. The amounts and conditions will be set forth in a collective bargaining agreement, individual contract, or benefit summary and in accordance with carrier and tax requirements. If the benefits selected cost more than the designated District contribution, the employee shall have such additional premiums/costs withheld from his/her salary. Licensed employees who work at least 20 hours, but less than 30 hours, per week shall receive one-half of the designated amount. The carrier(s), types of plans, level of benefits, and dollar contributions shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

Life Insurance. The District will provide group life insurance benefits to full-time employees, except temporary employees. The carrier(s), types of plans, level of benefits, and dollar contributions shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

Long-Term Disability. The District will provide group long-term disability coverage for all full-time employees, except temporary employees. The carrier(s), type of plan and level of benefits shall be determined by the Board of Directors.
