432 – Professional Ethics

The District shall reject solicitations for business from a former employee for a period of one year after the end of employment, unless that solicitation of business is subjected to a bidding process, and except that former employees may apply for substitute employment. The only exception to this rule concerns the purchase of intellectual property, which is property or work that is capable of being patented, copyrighted or registered.

Only the Superintendent may offer business to a former employee during a period of one year after the end of employment, and only if the former employee has demonstrated unique skills that such services rendered would provide a clear benefit to the District.
