539 – Student Releases During School Hours
Students will be allowed to leave school facilities during school hours only with prior authorization from the students’ parents or guardians and authorization from a building administrator or an administrator’s designee.
Approved reasons for release of students during school hours include, but are not limited to: illness, family emergencies, medical and other professional appointments, field trips, religious instruction, activity trips, to attend classes at other institutions, and for work-study programs.
The ability to leave school facilities during scheduled lunch periods is a privilege which must be earned and may be revoked at any time by either the students’ parent or guardian or by the building administrator. Twelfth grade students may be allowed to leave school facilities during their scheduled lunch periods only with prior written authorization from the students’ parents or guardians and authorization from the building administrator.
