Plan On Attending A Community Meeting Wednesday, March 4, 2015

The safety, security and well-being of all students in the Urbandale Community School District are top priorities which is why the District is hosting a Hope and Healing: Community Support and Resource Meeting” on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Urbandale High School Performing Arts Center (PAC). The meeting will focus on enhancing the community’s ability to heal and move forward following the tragic loss of two Urbandale Middle School students, understanding more about suicide warning signs, increasing resiliency in youth, and providing effective ways to help children cope with the loss of a friend.

School Board members and District Administrators will welcome parents and community members followed by a presentation from Jeffrey S. Kerber, PhD, LMFT, Clinical Manager of UnityPoint Health Des Moines Counseling Centers and Employee Assistance Program and previously a full-time practicing clinician for 15 years, and conclude with a question/answer session. This meeting is designed to provide additional support and resources for Urbandale parents and adult community members and is provided at no cost to attendees. All interested Urbandale parents, staff, teachers and adult community members are encouraged to attend.
