UHS Hope In Action Students Spearhead Program To Support Children Entering Foster CareCreated on January 6th, 2019
Urbandale High School “Hope In Action” students spearheaded a program to support children entering the foster care system as these children are often removed from their current living situation with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing. Hope In Action students involved the entire high school by requesting a backpack full of supplies from each “Connections” class. A total of 50+ backpacks were created for young children through teenage children entering the foster care system. The hope is that these backpacks will provide children a sense of connection, belonging, and a belief that they are cared for and loved.
