About Olmsted
Welcome to the Olmsted Elementary School web site. This site is maintained by Olmsted students and staff. Our Olmsted vision is Hand in Hand, Reaching Success. Our school is located at the corner of 72nd and Prairie in Urbandale. Olmsted has approximately 230 students in grades first through fifth, along with about 180 kindergarten students in the Kindergarten Center. The Kindergarten Center is the first Urbandale School experience for most Urbandale students.
About Me
Hi, my name is Petra DeVries. I graduated from the University of Iowa in December of 2006. I first came to Olmsted as a student teacher in Mrs. Bentzinger's fourth grade classroom. After graduation I actively substitute taught at Olmsted and in the Urbandale area. This is my sixth year teaching. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, fourth, and fifth grade. This is my second year in fifth grade and I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach your children this year!
