Announcing Our Interim Rolling Green Elementary PrincipalCreated on June 30th, 2020
Rolling Green Elementary Principal, Julia Taylor, recently announced her retirement after having been in education for 43 years, of which 29 were here in Urbandale. Mrs. Taylor has been an advocate for children and families, a motivational leader for teachers and staff, and a professional colleague who upholds the highest integrity. While we are sad to say goodbye to Mrs. Taylor, we cannot sufficiently express our gratitude for the countless ways she has contributed to our District. We wish Mrs. Taylor the best as she begins her retirement and we thank her for being a remarkable leader.
This leads us to an exciting announcement which is that we’re pleased to introduce you to our new interim Rolling Green Elementary Principal, Dania Wilson, who will serve in this capacity for the 2020-2021 school year. Over the past 15 years, Mrs. Wilson has served as a teacher and administrator at Urbandale High School; most recently serving as an Associate Principal. Mrs. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from the University of Iowa and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Iowa State University.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with Mrs. Taylor in my roles as a teacher and administrator at Urbandale High School over the past 15 years,” said Wilson. “I deeply respect and admire Mrs. Taylor and I will miss having the opportunity to collaborate with her. I have absolutely loved working with UHS students and staff and am eager to bring my passion for helping all children learn and grow by partnering with our outstanding students, educators, and families at Rolling Green.”
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Wilson as the interim Rolling Green Elementary Principal for the 2020-2021 school year. We’re thrilled to continue working alongside Mrs. Wilson as she is a trusted, respected, and highly valued member of our Urbandale team!
