These should be coming home soon! Be sure to read your child's informative book with them as soon as it comes home. What else could they research and write about over the summer?

53	Writing		I can tell the difference between a fact and an opinion as I start to learn about informative writing.	A fact is something we can prove. An opinion is a personal thought or feeling. See if your child can tell you about those two words and give you examples of each.
54	Math	Matemáticas Matematika	I can use my sense of touch to recognize, describe, and analyze 3-dimensional shapes and their attributes.	Show your child different 3-D shapes (sphere, cube, cone, cylinder, and rectangular prism) and see if they can use words to describe them.

82	Math	Matemáticas Matematika	I can play games to help me add, subtract, and make pairs to 10.	Games: The train game (growing and disappearing), hiding bears - ask your child about these games, how we play them, and what they can help us do in math.
83	Social Skills	Estudios Sociales Istorija	I can stay healthy by washing my hands and covering my cough and sneeze.	We have had some sickness floating around in K. Practice washing hands with soap and covering coughs/sneezes into our elbows.

Go over these school rules with your student this week: If I have snow pants and snow boots, I can play in the snow. If I do not have snow pants or snow boots, I need to stay on the sidewalk or blacktop. I cannot throw snow, but I can roll the snow to make a snowball or snowman.

As we look forward to getting back outside, this would be a great week to ask your child what it looks and sounds like in the hallway when we are walking to and from recess, specials, and lunch.
