Register NOW for the 25-26 School Year!

School registration for the 2025–2026 school year is open! Please review this information for registering your child for school in the Urbandale Community School District. As a reminder, all families with returning students must register students for the upcoming school year. We know this is a busy time of year for students and families. Thank you in advance for taking time to register your student(s). We’re looking forward to welcoming your child(ren) and family this fall!
Important Open Enrollment Due Dates for the 2025-2026 School Year
We’d like to make you aware of upcoming open enrollment due dates for the 2025-2026 school year. (Please note, if your child is currently open enrolled into the Urbandale Community School District and would like to continue attending next year, you do not need to submit a new application.)
- March 1, 2025: If your student will be going into 1st grade – 12th grade for the 2025-26 school year, Urbandale Community School District must receive your Open Enrollment Application by March 1, 2025. Per Iowa law, any applications received after this date will be denied unless good cause is demonstrated.
- September 1, 2025: If your student will be going into kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year, Urbandale Community School District must receive your Open Enrollment Application by September 1, 2025. Per Iowa law, any applications received after this date will be denied unless good cause is demonstrated.
If your child is currently open enrolled into the Urbandale Community School District and would like to continue attending next year, you do not need to submit a new application. Once you have been approved for open enrollment, the approval continues until your child graduates or you notify the district you are ending your open enrollment and enrolling your child in a different school district. (Note: While you do not need to submit a new open enrollment application, you do need to complete online student registration for the upcoming school year.)
