Welcome to UMS Band!

My name is Daphne Monson and the 2024-25 school year will be my twenty-fifth year of teaching at Urbandale Middle School. An alumna of Urbandale High School, I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside College in Sioux City. I spent one year teaching middle school band in the LeMars Community School District before coming back home to J-Hawk Country. My husband, Brent, teaches in the Recess program at Urbandale High School, and my daughter will be in ninth grade at UHS this year. We are a J-hawk family!

Lessons will begin Tuesday, September 3. Please bring your instrument and lesson book from last year to your first lesson. Lessons will also be entered as appointments in “pass” to help remind you. The schedule is posted to the right under “7th Grade Concert Band”.
