"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." - Nelson Mandela
¡Hola! Me llamo Emily Hoesly and I am thrilled to be joining the Urbandale World Language team this year, teaching Spanish I, IV and Cultural Issues. This will be my twelfth year teaching, and I have taught in my home state of Wisconsin (go Badgers!), Nebraska and Iowa. I have a Master’s Degree in Spanish and have studied in México, Ecuador, and Spain.
Outside of the classroom, I am an avid cyclist and traveller. In class, I love to see my students grow and take pride in their abilities to both express and understand communication in Spanish, and expand their world view with exposure to and meaningful reflections of other cultures.
Please feel free to contact me at any time!
