Welcome to kindergarten!
My name is Amanda Springer, and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. We are going to be learning lots of new things and having fun at the same time! This is my 13th year as a teacher. I have taught 6th grade, 3rd grade, and kindergarten. I am thrilled to be starting my 11th year as a kindergarten teacher in the Urbandale School District.
I graduated from Dordt College, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Reading Endorsement in 2014 from Upper Iowa University. I also finished my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from the University of Kansas in December, 2018.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling, and cooking! My husband, Brian, and I have two kids at home – a three-year old, Bennett George, and a 6-month old, Addison Ann. Bennett is curious, active, and is growing his own little personality – all things we love! Addison is babbling all the time and we love experiencing all the ‘firsts’ again with her!
You will find useful information about kindergarten and what we will be learning this year on my site. I also have a section with fun websites that are educationally appropriate for your children to play at home.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
We are going to have a great year together!
