Welcome to my page!

I grew up in Urbandale and attended Urbandale schools K-12. After graduating from UHS, I moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, I studied English, education and journalism. In addition to studying at Iowa, I also studied abroad in Swansea, Wales.  After college, I moved back to Des Moines to teach at my alma mater.  I taught in the English department at UHS for eight years before taking over as Dean of Students and eventually transitioning into the role of Assistant Principal. In May of 2014 I graduated from Iowa State University with my master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
