Earlier this month, English language learner (EL) students, families, and staff attended the annual Valerius (at Jensen) EL Family Picnic. Over three dozen family members came together to support students and have a great time getting to know one another. The picnic was also a fantastic opportunity for staff to reconnect with returning families and get to know families who are new to Valerius (at Jensen) and new to the district.

Families enjoyed games, music, and refreshments provided by the UCSD Nutrition Services Team. Parents had many opportunities to connect with one another as well as ask questions and receive answers from staff members. It was a meaningful, relaxing, and fun-filled afternoon.
